Meet Dr. Zahedi

Dr. Charles Zahedi was a Full-time Associate Professor at
the Department of Advanced Periodontics and Implant
Surgery at Lorna Linda University in California from 2002
to 2004.

Dr. Charles Zahedi obtained a PhD. in oral medicine with a
thesis on the periodontal and bone regeneration in animals and
humans.

Dr. Zahedi has been intensively involved with implant dentistry since 1992 and lectured on
implants and trained dentists not only in the United States but also in Sweden, United Kingdom,
Belgium, Portugal, People Republic of China, Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania and, Portugal.
He was the first Belgian member of the ITI (International Team for Oral Implantology) since
1995 and was also a Fellow of the US ITI until 2006. Most of the international publications of
Dr. Zahedi deal with oral Implantology and tissue regeneration.
Prior to moving to the United States, Dr. Zahedi became the first registered periodontist at the
Belgian Armed Forces and established a fully functional periodontal and implant unit in 1997,
serving military patients from all over Belgium, NATO and neighboring countries such as
Germany. As of May 2001, Dr Zahedi had over 6000 periodontal and/or implant appointments
in the Army and over 500 periodontal and/or implant surgeries including more than 260 tissue
regeneration procedures as certified by the Belgian Armed Forces. During the same period, he
was also responsible for periodontology at Brugmann University Hospital of University of
Brussels.
Dr. Zahedi and his wife Amelie have two daughters, Elena and Anahita and enjoy the walking on
the beautiful beaches of Southern California as often as possible.
